Wayne Hinder has been running WH Performance Horses in the Adelaide Hills since returning from the USA in 2010. Specializing in reining and reined cow horses, Wayne is one of Australia’s leading trainers.
In the US, he worked closely with Hall of Fame trainer Greg Ward and was part of a successful breeding and show team. He also learned colt-starting techniques from the legendary Tom Dorrance.
Back in Australia, Wayne has trained top horses like Reysn Hope, Dunrufnit, and QP Gunshy, earning titles such as Reining Horse of the Year, multiple derby wins, and Reserve Champion at Equitana. In 2024, he competed in the $100k reining competition at Equitana.
Together with his wife Michelle, they train a crop of two-year-old futurity horses and are active in the South Australian Reining Horse Association. Wayne also shares his expertise through clinics nationwide and judges cow horse events.
Wayne’s goal is to continually improve as a horseman and to one day compete at a major reining event in the United States. At every show, he gives thanks for the opportunity to work with these incredible animals.
