Who has influenced your passion for equestrian the most and why?

I have been fortunate to have many incredible people and horses influence my almost 50 year long equestrian journey, too many to name! However, I have to give credit to my first ever Quarter Horse Spin (Lil Rimrock Spinnin Gold) who I purchased as an unbroken two-year-old and is now a 21-year-old schoolmaster.

What has been your biggest riding-related accomplishment?

Travelling from Tasmania to Victoria to compete at the 2022 NRHA championships with my beautiful Woody (Woody’s Red Whiz), who I started and trained myself.

What do you do to prepare yourself for competition?

I try my best to ensure that both my horse and I are relaxed and have plenty of time to prepare. This is not always successful! As a Committee Member and Coach that can be tricky because I often have a multitude of things that take up my time and attention at competitions. I have had many occasions where I have forgotten my pattern due to unsuccessful multitasking!

What is your dream riding goal?

My current goal is to start and successfully compete my home bred rising two-year-old Obie (Galaxy Gun) under saddle in a few years’ time. We had success in the yearling events last season and will continue to compete in the two year old in hand events this show season. I would love to be able to show Obie at National level Paint and Ranch Event Shows in years to come.

Which is your favourite Johnson’s Natural Formula feed and why?

I absolutely love Platinum Low Gi. I have a team of six amazing horses and ponies ranging from two to twenty-one years of age. Using Platinum Low Gi as the foundation feed for all of my horses allows me to keep my feeding program simple, cost effective and my horses look and feel amazing!
