Who has influenced your passion for equestrian the most and why?
I’ve always been drawn to the process—the connection, the patience, and the reward that comes from working with horses. It’s not just about riding; it’s about understanding the animal, building trust, and refining both their skills and mine.
What has been your biggest riding-related accomplishment?
My biggest riding-related accomplishment has been winning the Grand Nationals with my Show Hunter—a challenging and often naughty horse I wasn’t sure we’d ever get there. Through persistence and hard work, he became a multiple show winner, making that victory especially rewarding. I’m also incredibly proud of winning the Crane Trophy for Mares at the Sydney Royal Show and achieving multiple Horse of the Year titles, which reflect years of dedication and passion for the sport.
What do you do to prepare yourself for competition?
To prepare for competition, I like to stay relaxed and keep the mood light by joking around, then get focused just before entering the ring. I’m a bit superstitious—no green in the stables as it’s considered bad luck—and I always wear the same outfit because I don’t like change. Being prepared and sticking to my routine helps me feel confident and ready to perform.
What is your dream riding goal?
My dream riding goal is to develop and compete with my two young Warmblood horses in dressage, taking them as far as I can in the dressage arena. I want to showcase their potential and highlight the diversity in my riding abilities. While I’m passionate about showing, it’s not all I do—my love for training and developing horses across different disciplines is just as strong.
Which is your favourite Johnson’s Natural Formula feed and why?
My favourite Johnson’s Natural Formula feed is Platinum Low GI. I love it because it focuses on building strength and topline—something I value more than just putting condition on a horse. I like a strong, muscled horse, not just one that’s fat. It’s also a low sugar and starch feed and supports gut health, which I believe is key. Overall health starts from the inside out—when a horse looks good, feels good, they perform at their best.
