Discipline: Eventing/liberty +R training
Where you are from:
Originally from Brisbane, now live in Scone NSW.
Who has influenced your passion for equestrian the most and why?
Alycia Burton has been my biggest inspiration to pursue training as a career. I’d always admired her impressive accomplishments riding tackless but having the opportunity to work with her one on one was incredible. I didn’t grow up with horses and only bought my first horse at 18. I didn’t have a tone of experience behind me, but Alycia gave me to confidence to trust my feeling and intuition with horses.
What has been your biggest riding-related accomplishment?
Starting my mare Arrow from scratch and taking her through to competing 2-star eventing and doing some pretty cool tack-less work jumping big fences and galloping on beaches is definitely what I’m most proud of. She isn’t an easy horse by any means but she has been the most incredible teacher and teammate.
What do you do to prepare yourself for competition?
I used to get pretty bad nerves so I like to work on my mindfulness. I don’t get to compete very often these days so I try to just enjoy the experience and not take it too seriously.
What is your dream riding goal?
I would love to complete a cross-country course tack-less and make it to 3 star eventing
Which is your favourite Johnson’s Natural Formula feed and why?
Johnson’s Alfalfa plus has been my go-to feed for years. The essential amino acids are so important for supporting muscle development as well as being low starch to support gut health.
