I’m based at my family property ‘Kanaskis park’ in Arcadia New South Wales
Who has influenced your passion for equestrian the most and why?
Initially my mum was the one who got me into riding by buying a very naughty but very cute grey pony and since then I’ve been hooked! But now my biggest inspiration is Ingrid Klimke, I think her success in both dressage and eventing is unrivalled and love her philosophy around training horses.
What has been your biggest riding-related accomplishment?
One of my biggest accomplishments is producing my 5yo Jazdan formidable from his initial break to FEI young horse classes, a highlight being winning round 1 of the 4yo class at Sydney CDI and eventually being named reserve champion and winners of Round 1 in 5yo classes this year at Dressage and jumping with the stars. Another big accomplishment is earlier this year at Dressage by the Sea CDI having trifecta of wins in the young rider class with my mare Baummans Diorella.
What do you do to prepare yourself for competition?
I don’t think I’m particularly superstitious until it comes to cross country day! I listen to the same song every time before I get on to get me ready and always check my girth 3 times before I get on and 3 times before I head out the start box!
What is your dream riding goal?
To continue producing young horses up the levels to the top sport in both eventing and dressage with a goal of hopefully representing Australia one day!
Which is your favourite Johnson’s Natural Formula feed and why?
From breeding our own “Kananaskis park” foals to having FEI dressage and eventing horses it’s important we have feed that can meet each horse’s individual requirments and this is exactly what Johsons offers! So, it’s very hard to pick just one favourite, but our horses love the mare and foal as well as the Platinum Low GI which is perfect for our performance horses! I love the Low GI as it provides them with all the cool energy needed for their workload in a balanced and sustained way!
