Wayne Hinder has been running his business WH Performance Horses in the Adelaide Hills for fourteen years, since moving back to Australia from the USA in 2010. Training reining horses and reined cow horses, Wayne is one of Australia’s top trainers.

Together with his wife Michelle, they have a crop of two year old Futurity horses in training, and are also heavily involved in the South Australian Reining Horse Association. Wayne holds clinics around Australia to share his vast knowledge with aspiring reiners, and judges cow horse events.

In the USA Wayne worked with and was heavily influenced by Hall of Fame trainer Greg Ward of ward ranch, and was part of a hugely successful breeding operation and show team. Specialising in training cutting horses and reined cow horses. He was extremely fortunate to run their two-year-old program, and work with the legendary Tom Dorrance, learning his ways of starting colts.

Since being back in Australia, and focussing on reining, Wayne has trained and piloted some great horses to success, including Reysn Hope, Dunrufnit, QP Gunshy and so many others. His wins include reining horse of the year, multiple derbies, multiple opens and reserve champion at Equitana. In 2024 he will return to Equitana to compete in the $100k competition.

Wayne’s ultimate goal is to be the best horseman he can possibly be, and he strives for this every time he rides. His dream is to one day show at a major reining in the United States.
